Un peso pesado debuta en Chicago: Mopar presenta la Ram 2500 Heavy Duty 2019 personalizada

Las marcas Mopar y Ram presentaron en el CAS (Autoshow de Chicago) una Ram 2500 Heavy Duty 2019 modificada, con un selecto grupo de los más de 170 productos Mopar.

“La Ram 2500 Heavy Duty presentada en el Autoshow de Chicago es el más reciente ejemplo de nuestro compromiso por ofrecer una línea completa de productos Mopar con los que se puede personalizar un vehículo de FCA US LLC desde el mismo día en que es lanzado”, señaló Steve Beahm, responsable de Partes y Servicio (Mopar) y de Marcas de Vehículos de Pasajeros, FCA Norteamérica. “Ya sea para uso en pistas todoterreno, en la calle o en los sitios de trabajo, Mopar ofrece más de 170 partes y accesorios que refuerzan las capacidades de la nueva Ram Heavy Duty 2019”, agrega.

 Características de la Ram 2500 Heavy Duty 2019 modificada

La pickup modificada está basada en una Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Big Horn 2019 con motor HEMI V8 de 6.4 litros. Pintada en un único color Blue Streak, está equipada con una selección de partes y accesorios Mopar de producción y con exclusivas piezas aún en fase de concepto. 

Los productos Mopar incluyen, entre otros, una barra Ram con pintura negra para la caja y 5 luces LED todo-terreno de 5 pulgadas, capaz de brillar cada una a 4,800 lúmenes. Un banco de interruptores auxiliar dentro de la cabina permite activar las luces y proporciona, además, un área central organizada para operar otros accesorios. 

Un escalón trasero, un elemento de producción opcional también disponible como accesorio Mopar, se retrae con una ligera presión y facilita el acceso a la caja tanto con la puerta trasera abierta como cerrada. 

Varias piezas Mopar en fase de concepto acentúan las capacidades todo-terreno de la Ram Heavy Duty. Así, unos rieles para roca revestidos por una capa de pintura proporcionan protección adicional cuando se transita sobre pistas y senderos. Unos rines con beadlock de 17 pulgadas, alojan unos llamativos neumáticos Goodyear. En la zona de la caja un soporte para rueda de refacción permite transportar llantas de hasta 37 pulgadas.

Interior 

El interior rediseñado de la nueva Ram Heavy Duty 2019, incorpora unas placas Mopar para las molduras de las puertas fabricadas en acero inoxidable y con el logo R-A-M inscrito. Unos tapetes Mopar para todo tipo de climas, resistentes al agua y con forma de cubeta protegen el piso de la cabina de agua, lodo y otros sedimentos.

Mopar trabajó en estrecha colaboración con la marca Ram, con el equipo de ingeniería y con la PDO, (Oficina de Diseño de Producto),  para crear una completa línea de productos para personalizar la nueva Ram Heavy Duty 2019. El desarrollo incluye miles de horas de pruebas y validación para cumplir con los más estrictos estándares. El análisis de datos exclusivos de fábrica (no disponibles en el aftermarket) ha facilitado la integración de las partes y accesorios Mopar en la nueva Ram Heavy Duty. 

La gran mayoría de las más de 170 piezas y accesorios estarán disponibles desde el mismo día del lanzamiento de la Ram Heavy Duty 2019.

Desde su lanzamiento en el salón del automóvil de Nueva York el Genesis G70 2019 tiene entre algunos galardones: “Car of the year” de la revista MotorTrend, “Car of the year” en AutoGuide.com de Canadá, y el más reciente y codiciado, “2019 North American Car of the Year” y “Vehicle of the Year” del North American International Auto Show de Detroit.

Sin lugar a dudas que no solo los periodistas y entendidos han elegido este modelo, de la Genesis, la marca de lujo del conglomerado que agrupa Hyundai, el público también esta mostrando sus preferencias en las carreteras.

Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional. An 8-speed, sport-tuned automatic with standard steering wheel mounted paddle-shifters is available with either engine. Custom-drive mode further adjusts a variety of vehicle parameters to suit preferences or driving conditions.

Optional high-performance BREMBO brakes feature fixed calipers (four-piston front, two-piston rear), ensuring exceptional stopping power and good fade resistance, thanks to 13.8-inch ventilated front rotors. On models featuring 19-inch wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires provide sharp turn-in response and strong lateral grip.

Aviator delivers a wealth of intuitive technologies designed to assist the driver while enhancing the overall experience of the journey. The effortlessness of the overall experience continues as clients enter, using their compatible smartphone as a key to access their vehicle. Lincoln’s Phone As A Key technology, debuting in the all-new Aviator, is activated through the Lincoln Way app. It allows owners to lock and unlock, open the liftgate and, most importantly, start and drive the vehicle – all without a traditional key.

Phone As A Key offers additional amenities. Drivers can recall individual preferences for adjusting seat, mirror and steering column positions. Comfort and entertainment settings can be activated through the feature as well. If owners want to loan their Aviator to a family member or friend, the technology makes that equally effortless too, as up to four “keys” are provided with each vehicle in addition to the standard smart key fob.

Should a phone battery go dead, a passcode can be entered on the standard exterior keypad to gain entry then a backup code can be entered on the center touch screen to start and drive the vehicle. If a phone is lost or stolen, Phone As A Key can be easily deleted, providing additional peace of mind for clients.

Also new to Lincoln is an available technology that enables Aviator to “see” most potholes or uneven pavement and immediately make suspension adjustments to keep the ride as smooth as possible. Adaptive Suspension with Road Preview uses an advanced forward camera to constantly scan the road, seamlessly adjusting the suspension as needed.

All Lincoln vehicles come standard with a suite of driver-assist features known as Lincoln Co-Pilot360. With the arrival of Aviator, Lincoln’s most advanced suite of driver-assist technologies will be available in a new upgrade aptly named Lincoln Co-Pilot360 Plus. It adds:

  • Traffic Jam Assist helps guide the vehicle using adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane centering and traffic sign recognition, which scans speed limit signs along the roadway, adjusting speed based on the information obtained

Usted no puede resistir sentirse consentida/o en un modelo de la marca alemana que reza en su propaganda “The Best Or Nothing”. A decir verdad, con el convertible Mercedes Benz S63 AMG del 2019 no puede equivocarse.

La imaginación no tuvo límite para los diseñadores que desplegaron todo lo que un cliente exigente puede querer, si paga los $180.000 y más que cuesta este modelo.

Desde sus medidas de ancho, un frente que mide 83,0”, y 74,8” atrás, para un largo total de 198,9”, encuentra toda una armonía; en el S63 AMG que tiene doble turbo para un motor de 4.0L V8, 9 velocidades, 603 caballos de fuerza que le otorga una aceleración de 3.4 segundos de 0-60 mph, con un estanque con capacidad para 21.1 galones, y si presiona el pedal, la aceleración solo se siente en el tablero, porque la estabilidad del auto, es increíble.

Para mi gusto no se si la primera impresión me la entregó su iluminación, con luces en cristal Swarovski (opción que cuesta $1.750) o el tapiz, que arropa la vista, el tacto y acomoda todo su cuerpo con esa suavidad de cuero.

Y como los hombres pagan los autos, aún cuando las mujeres deciden el color, esta variedad deja contentos a ambos. La gama de colores son: Black, Magnetic black metallic, Obsidian black metallic, Iridium silver metallic, Diamond silver metallic, Selenite grey metallic, Emerald green metallic, Anthracite blue metallic, Lunar blue metallic, Diamond white metallic y Cashemere white magno, una gama que va con el buen gusto de una selección de tapices que puede combinar, para sentirse, que cumplió su sueño.

Mercedes Benz S63 AMG 2019

Mercedes-AMG is updating its S-Class Coupes and Cabriolets with a host of technical and visual highlights. The new-design front end is dominated by the Panamericana radiator grille, which now gives the two- door, luxury-class performance vehicles an even more independent look.

In the AMG S63 Coupe and Cabriolet, the Handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8  double turbo engine with twin-scroll turbochargers and cylinder deactivation (Coupe) supersedes the previous 5.5L V8 biturbo. Despite the smaller displacement, the new engine puts out 603 hp and thus exactly 26 hp more than the preceding model. The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission is also new to the Coupe and Cabriolet, as is the fully variable all-wheel drive system AMG Performance 4MATIC+.

Hallmark features of the AMG S-Class models are the large forged light-alloy wheels, measuring 19 inches as standard on the S63 Coupe and Cabriolet. The exclusive forged wheels on the V12 Coupes and Cabriolets have an unusual and fascinating design: each of the 16 spokes twists in a special way so that the light-catching contours radiate to the center of the wheel hub. The effect: The wheel appears larger than its actual dimensions of 8.5 J x 20 at the front and 9.5 J x 20 at the rear. In addition, the ceramic mirror polishing ensure an exclusive look.

New and exclusive additions to the Coupe and Cabriolet are the OLED (“organic light-emitting diode”) taillamps. OLEDs are characterized by their thin-film design, which allows curved surfaces to be created, resulting in totally new light designs. A total of 66 OLEDs (33 left and 33 right) produce an unmistakable light signature, which is combined with a Coming Home function. Other stand-out features of the AMG S-Class Coupes and Cabriolets include the numerous high-sheen chrome design elements (S65) on the front, sides and rear. These are particularly effective in combination with dark paint colors.

Interior

The stylish character of the new S-Class models from Mercedes-AMG is also evident in the interior: all four models welcome their passengers with a special ambience. The AMG power sports seats with memory function and seat heating offer the driver and front passenger more lateral support. Nappa leather and AMG badges in the front and rear seat backrests create an exclusive atmosphere on board. Special touches include the embossed emblem on the armrest of the front center console and the analogue clock in exclusive IWC design, which features three-dimensional, milled metal hands and genuine metal appliqués on the face.

The three-spoke Performance steering wheel features paddle shifters, a distinctly contoured rim trimmed with perforated leather in the grip area, and a metal insert with AMG logotype. It is optionally available made of Black Nappa Leather/DINAMICA microfiber.

Another hallmark AMG specialty are the displays: the 12.3-inch TFT wide-screen color display reproduces round dials that provide information about engine speed, vehicle speed and additional vehicle data. The driver has a choice of three display designs: Classic, Sport and Progressive. In addition, the AMG menu has been considerably expanded. Among other things, it can display the engine and transmission oil temperature, lateral and longitudinal acceleration, engine output vehicle set-up.

Biturbo engine with twin-scroll turbochargers

The Handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8 biturbo engine in the S63 Coupe and Cabriolet comes exclusively in the highest performance stage to date rated at 603 hp. The peak torque of 664 lb-ft also represents a new maximum and is available across a wide rev range between 2,750 and 4,500 rpm, and thereby provides a sense of superior poise. The sprint from standstill to 60 mph takes just 3.4 seconds, and the fulminating acceleration continues until the electronically limited top speed of 186 mph is reached (electronically limited).

For the first time the S63 Coupe and Cabriolet have been fitted with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed transmission, which convinces with extremely short shift times, lightning reactions to shift paddle commands, a double-clutching function and fast multiple downshifts. A wet start-off clutch replaces the torque converter of the production model. This saves weight and improves the response to the driver’s accelerator pedal input, particularly during acceleration and load changes. It also allows the “Race Start” function.

AMG DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes

The four different AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive programs Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual give drivers extensive influence over the new models’ characteristics. Each drive program modifies key parameters such as the response of engine, transmission, suspension, steering, ESP and all-wheel drive in the S63 Coupe and Cabriolet.

The S63 Coupe and Cabriolet also feature the “RACE” drive program, while the S65 Coupe features the drive program “Curve”.

Independently of the DYNAMIC SELECT drive programs, the driver has the option of pressing the “M” button to switch directly to manual mode, in which gearshifts are executed exclusively using the shift paddles on the steering wheel. The suspension set-ups can also be selected if desired. The 3-stage ESP and the exhaust gas flap can also be controlled using an AMG-specific button.

RACE START

The Race Start function is now also available in the S63 Coupe and Cabriolet. It features a new, significantly simpler control logic: In the Sport or Sport+ driving modes, the driver only has to press hard on the brake pedal with their left foot while simultaneously mashing the accelerator pedal with their right foot. The on- board electronics will then set the optimum engine speed. Depending on the requirements or the road surface conditions, the engine speed can be increased or lowered in a certain range by operating the paddle shifters. If the driver now releases the brake pedal, the vehicle accelerates with optimal traction. The Coupe and Cabriolet are then able to sprint from zero to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds.

The Santa Fe’s larger DLO enhances the interior’s feeling of openness with generous amounts of natural light.

Safety Features

Hyundai’s standard Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) puts eyes and legs in the back of drivers’ heads. Using the Blind Spot Detection system’s radar sensors when backing up, the system can not only warn the driver if vehicles approach from the rear side, it also applies the brakes automatically.

Additional safety features include the optional Rear Occupant Alert, which Hyundai is debuting with the Santa Fe. The system monitors the rear seats using an ultrasonic sensor that helps to detect the movements of children and pets. The system first reminds drivers to check the rear seats when exiting the vehicle with a message on the center instrument cluster display. If the system detects movement in the rear seats after the driver leaves the vehicle and locks the doors it will honk the horn and send a Blue Link alert to the driver’s smartphone via Hyundai’s Blue Link connected car system. The system is designed to prevent children and pets from being forgotten in the car, but it also helps in case children accidentally lock themselves in.

The 2019 Santa Fe also features Hyundai’s first standard Safe Exit Assist system. To enhance the safety of Hyundai’s passengers, Safe Exit Assist uses radar to detect cars approaching from the rear and cautions passengers looking to exit the vehicle. If a passenger attempts to open the door when a car is approaching from behind, a visual and acoustic warning on the center cluster will alert the driver. In addition, if the driver attempts to deactivate the Electronic Child Safety Lock feature, Safe Exit Assist will override the driver and ensure the rear doors remain locked until the approaching vehicle has passed. Once the road is clear, the driver can then deactivate the Electronic Child Safety Lock and successfully unlock the rear passenger doors.

Interior Space and Visibility

Interior cabin space has been enhanced on the 2019 Santa Fe. Inside, there is now more cargo room behind the second-row seats. In addition to more cargo space, second-row leg room has also been lengthened to be best-in-class. The H-point distance between the first and second rows has also been increased and the floor has been lowered for even more second-row comfort. Engineers also have incorporated one-touch folding second-row seats.

The 2019 Santa Fe line-up offers a choice of proven powertrains. There is a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder GDI engine with 185 horsepower or a more powerful, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 235 horsepower. All engines are mated to a brand-new eight-speed automatic transmission.

New Eight-Speed Automatic Transmission

The newly developed transmission provides quick and crisp shifts for a more engaging and efficient driving experience. Despite having two extra gears, the eight-speed transmission, which was designed in-house, is lighter than the outgoing six-speed model. The automatic transmission adds ratio range at both the top and bottom of output speeds allowing for extra thrust off-the-line and a quieter, more fuel-efficient dash down the interstate. A multi-disc and individually controlled hydraulic channel torque converter improves responsiveness by expanding the direct connection band, while a downsized oil pump and double ball bearings minimize friction loss.

BLUE LINK Connected Car System

Santa Fe Blue Link-equipped models include three years of complimentary Blue Link services, with enhanced safety, diagnostic, remote and voice guidance services. Blue Link brings connectivity directly into the car with technologies like Remote Start with Climate Control, Remote Door Lock/Unlock, Car Finder, Enhanced Roadside Assistance and Stolen Vehicle Recovery. Blue Link features can be accessed via buttons on the rearview mirror, the MyHyundai.com web portal, the MyHyundai with Blue Link smartphone app, the Amazon® Alexa Blue Link skill and the Blue Link Google Assistant app. Some features can also be controlled via Android Wear and Apple Watch smart watch apps.
