Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the\u00a0 <\/span>hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few\u00a0 <\/span>trusted allies\u2014Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright)\u2014amongst\u00a0 <\/span>the city\u2019s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established\u00a0 <\/span>himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens. <\/span><\/p>\n

When a killer targets Gotham\u2019s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic\u00a0 <\/span>clues sends the World\u2019s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he\u00a0 <\/span>encounters such characters as Selina Kyle\/aka Catwoman (Zo\u00eb Kravitz), Oswald Cobblepot\/aka\u00a0 <\/span>the Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and Edward Nashton\/aka the\u00a0 <\/span>Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the\u00a0 <\/span>perpetrator\u2019s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and\u00a0 <\/span>bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Starring alongside Robert Pattinson (\u201cTenet,\u201d \u201cThe Lighthouse\u201d) as Gotham\u2019s famous and\u00a0 <\/span>infamous cast of characters are Zo\u00eb Kravitz (\u201cBig Little Lies,\u201d \u201cFantastic Beasts: The Crimes of\u00a0 <\/span>Grindelwald\u201d); Paul Dano (\u201cLove & Mercy,\u201d \u201c12 Years a Slave\u201d); Jeffrey Wright (\u201cNo Time to Die,\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cWestworld\u201d); John Turturro (the \u201cTransformers\u201d films, \u201cThe Plot Against America\u201d); Peter\u00a0 <\/span>Sarsgaard (\u201cThe Magnificent Seven,\u201d \u201cInterrogation\u201d) as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Jayme Lawson\u00a0 <\/span>(\u201cFarewell Amor\u201d) as mayoral candidate Bella Re\u00e1l; with Andy Serkis (the \u201cPlanet of the Apes\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>films, \u201cBlack Panther\u201d); and Colin Farrell (\u201cThe Gentlemen,\u201d \u201cFantastic Beasts and Where to Find\u00a0 <\/span>Them\u201d). <\/span><\/p>\n

Reeves (\u201cThe Planet of the Apes\u201d franchise) directed from a screenplay by Reeves & Peter\u00a0 <\/span>Craig, based on characters from DC. Batman was created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger. Dylan <\/span><\/p>\n

Clark (the \u201cPlanet of the Apes\u201d films) and Reeves produced the film, with Michael E. Uslan, Walter\u00a0 <\/span>Hamada, Chantal Nong Vo and Simon Emanuel serving as executive producers.\u00a0 <\/span>The director\u2019s behind-the-scenes creative team included Oscar-nominated director of\u00a0 <\/span>photography Greig Fraser (\u201cDune,\u201d \u201cLion\u201d); Reeves\u2019 \u201cPlanet of the Apes\u201d production designer,\u00a0 <\/span>James Chinlund, and editor, William Hoy; editor Tyler Nelson (\u201cRememory\u201d); and Oscar-winning\u00a0 <\/span>costume designer Jacqueline Durran (\u201c1917,\u201d \u201cLittle Women,\u201d \u201cAnna Karenina\u201d). The music is by\u00a0 <\/span>Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino (the current \u201cSpider-Man,\u201d \u201cJurassic World\u201d and \u201cStar\u00a0 <\/span>Wars\u201d films, \u201cUp\u201d). <\/span><\/p>\n

Warner Bros. Pictures Presents a 6<\/span>th <\/sup><\/span>& Idaho\/Dylan Clark Productions Production, a Matt\u00a0 <\/span>Reeves Film, \u201cThe Batman.\u201d The film is set to open in theaters in North America March 4, 2022 and internationally beginning 2 March 2022; it will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros.
